Vilma Nissinen’s strong reaction ended up directly on TV: “Oh…”

Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu was left without a SM medal on Friday.

The team was in the lead in the penultimate leg of the women’s free double relay, but bad luck interfered with the game. Eveliina Piippo tripped and fell.

Team-mate Vilma Nissinen the strong reaction was shown live on Yle’s TV broadcast. Nissinen, who was waiting in the changing area, saw Piipo’s fall on the stadium screen, and did not hide his feelings.

– Oh… a shocked Nissinen seemed to say.

Piippo replaced Vuokat in the eighth. Nissinen, who skied as an anchor, took the team to fifth place.

– In this type of competition, there are no setbacks. Always wanted to fight for victory. The world won’t fall on it, but it’s sad, Nissinen commented on Piipo’s fall and his reaction.

Not the first chain

Vuokatti lacks several names in the SM skiing. Katri Lylynperä still recovering from illness and Jasmin Kähärä From Tour de Ski.

According to Nissinen, it was important to defend the relay cup, where the club was second before the weekend.

– We didn’t have the first chain on the line. My skiing felt really good. The race was an opening practice for the other trips of the weekend. I expect a better shot from them.

AT Ski Team won the Finnish double relay championship. Teho Ski Team Iisalmi was second, Ounasvaara Ski Club third.

On Saturday, there will be a 10 kilometer traditional race in Imatra. Combined races are on the program on Sunday.
