Hélène Hendriks deliberately did not broadcast the video in which Tygo Gernandt is guilty of domestic violence in her talk show. “Because it was expensive,” she says. However, that turns out to be nonsense…
Exactly the same thing is happening to Tygo Gernandt as to Theo Maassen a year ago: the weekly magazine Privé has published a lengthy article accusing him of domestic violence. And just like with Theo, Evert Santegoeds’ club did not happen overnight. The whole thing is supported with statements from exes, a police report and photos.
Chilling
One of the most important pieces of evidence is a video in which Tygo roughly drags out his ex-girlfriend Dianne van den Eng. Actually, she didn’t want to share them — there are just some in Private stills published – but because of his denial she was forced to do so yesterday. They were put online by De Telegraaf (see below).
That Tygo video was broadcast in the evening in all kinds of programs, including Renze. Table guest Edwin Rutten is completely shocked: “It is horrifying to see this. I understand that it is difficult to prove, but you would still think: this is not possible, that’s it. This needs to be looked at seriously.”
‘Images too expensive’
Hélène Hendriks last night The Orange Winter did talk about the Tygo riot, but chose very politically correct not to show the images. “We had the choice whether to show the images or not. We chose not to do that, also because they were expensive,” she claims.
The presenter continues: “No, we chose not to do it. Do you understand that it will be broadcast? It gives a certain image. His ex-girlfriend is being pulled along by her jacket or her wrists and that does not look good, but you don’t know what happened before and after.”
Jack van Gelder then: “Yes, but it is still not clean on the bone.”
Morally reprehensible
Media critic Victor Vlam is also in the studio and finds the images objectionable. “Because it’s not punishable, it can still be morally wrong, right? Because I find that video really shocking to see and there is quite a lot of evidence. There is a video, there is a police report, there is a medical certificate from a doctor.”
“It is also a fact that he was fired from Flikken Maastricht due to misconduct there. AvroTros does not deny that and if it were not the case, they would probably deny something so intense. So there are two exes and the fact that he got fired somewhere. That’s quite something you’ve got there. He is very much against appearances.”
‘Hélène is lying!’
Back to Hélène: it hurts Private Boss Evert Santegoeds that she claims that the images were too expensive. “What she also says is that the images are too expensive. I really want to say something about that, because the girl in question never asked for or received 1 euro or nothing at all,” he responds in Show news.
“They should have had the images, but Hélène chose to describe it and in the wrong way. “On her coat,” she said. Well, she should have looked a little closer, I guess. (…) I would like to emphasize once again that she did not receive a single euro for it and neither did she ask Hélène Hendriks for a euro.”
