THE UNUSUAL BEAUTY OF ORDINARY THINGS
“She was always, you know, to the point. She was always full of enthusiasm for everything,” says a former Eames Office employee about Ray Eames. She has designed world-famous furniture, made films, built houses and, with her husband Charles Eames, is one of the most important creative people of the 20th century. “Good design can improve life” was the dynamic couple’s belief. The power of play to stimulate creativity and imagination was an essential tool in the design process. Therefore, designing masks, toys and dragons was a natural extension of her work. They were fascinated by the way the game allows us to explore new ideas without the pressure of getting it “right.” With this lightness and curiosity, the OSKA autumn/winter collection embarks on a creative journey of discovery.
The belief that design can improve life remains relevant today. A changing lifestyle has given rise to new needs, and clothing is adapting to the moment. We want to spend more time outdoors – from walking in the park to cycling to work. More than ever, versatility, comfort and function have become design elements: skillful layering with versatile styles for a seamless transition between everyday life and events, naturally sustainable materials and technical fabrics for coats and parkas that protect us from wind and weather.

Outdoor coats and jackets define the silhouette and shape the mood: the reinterpretation of the trench made of brushed cotton twill, the sporty parka with a hood made of water-repellent nylon or the lined, gently enveloping coat with a subtle glen check made of pure wool. Unique materials and innovative, timeless cuts create new clothing in everyday life. The layered look remains current and invites you to play creatively with proportions and feel. Technically smooth jerseys are minimalist highlights and practical all-rounders. Combined with cozy coarse knits made from natural materials such as alpaca, merino wool or cotton bouclé, exciting contrasts are created. The silhouette can be individually adjusted, there is no right or wrong, only new. No matter whether flowing, enveloping and soft or whether you prefer narrow, clear and puristic – creativity should be lived, fashion adapts playfully to needs and moods. The suit is experiencing a revival and is finding its way into all areas of life: Made from jacquard jersey it is comfortable, washed cotton with a herringbone pattern makes the business look casual, the combination of skirt and blouse made of recycled taffeta with a dot design gives elegance and Ease. Blouses are becoming more and more important and are the unifying element in the look. The must-have of the modern, uncomplicated wardrobe are and remain dresses. There are no limits to the creativity and variety of materials here: from baby corduroy, subtle mini checks made of brushed cotton to elegant viscose with painterly prints to jacquard jersey. Quality and character characterize the materials we have always used. The wool walk in all its diversity and uniqueness will be particularly important this season and underlines the love of craftsmanship that makes the OSKA look so incomparable.

The new season’s color palette reflects Ray Eames’ joy of life, her willingness to experiment and her playful curiosity. Colorful highlights such as clematis blue, cheerful orange and fresh sky blue are inspired by masks, dragons and toys. Gently graduated green and blue tones surround brighter colors and create a balance of calm and diversity. The warm, autumnal red tones radiate a pleasant sense of security. Subtle natural white softens black and allows exciting combinations with soft rosé and bottle green. A true Eames classic.
