The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Rumors and fixed changes from the world of football can be found here.
With the beginning of 2025, the transfer window opened in the Bundesliga and other European leagues. In Germany the transfer period ends on February 3rd. Players can then move abroad if the leagues there have a later transfer deadline.
Which clubs are most in need of reinforcements, what is FC Bayern doing and what is the situation at the top European clubs? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important guesses and changes from Germany and the world.
Werder Bremen has borrowed defender Issa Kaboré from English champions Manchester City. As the Bundesliga club announced, the 23-year-old from Burkina Faso will stay until the end of the season. The change has become apparent in the past few days. This is the first winter entry for Bremen, who are currently seventh in the table.
“Due to an impending move by Olivier Deman and in view of Felix Agu’s absence, we had the short-term opportunity to loan Issa until the end of the season,” said professional football director Peter Niemeyer, according to the statement. The Belgian Deman will be loaned to Royal Antwerp until the end of the season, as Werder later announced. He is scheduled to return in the summer.
Defender Kaboré was on loan to Benfica Lisbon last summer, but the loan ended at the end of last year. Werder had already tried to lure the 40-time national player from Burkina Faso to Bremen six months ago. “Issa is technically well trained, physically robust and also has good speed,” said coach Ole Werner.
There were already rumors about Ridle Baku moving from VfL Wolfsburg to RB Leipzig last week. Now the transfer becomes more concrete. Because as the “Kicker” reports, Baku has informed VfL that they want to move to Leipzig. Both clubs are in exchange, but there is still a difference in the transfer fee.
Baku’s contract expires in the summer, so Leipzig would like to sign him cheaply. According to the report, RB sports director Marcel Schäfer has made an offer of around three million euros to his former club Wolfsburg, but this sum is apparently not enough for Lower Saxony. Their managing director Peter Christiansen also emphasized that a replacement had to be found.
Dani Olmo’s future at FC Barcelona remains unclear. The European champions have not yet registered for the second half of the season in the Spanish league due to the club’s financial problems. So he is not allowed to play any games for Barcelona. As the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Serra” now reports, a new opportunity has opened up.
According to the report, Barça has now considered a loan deal with AC Milan. The Italian top club could sign Olmo for six months before the offensive player returns to Barcelona next season. So far, Olmo has played 15 competitive games for the Catalans, contributing six goals and one assist.
Borussia Dortmund’s young hopeful Almugera Kabar is apparently the focus of AC Milan. Transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Italians want to sign the 18-year-old left-back.
