While some Bundesliga teams have already played their first games of the new year, FC Bayern is now starting its first and only test match against FC Red Bull Salzburg. During the preparation, coach Vincent Kompany was able to welcome a few returnees. Will they also be used directly on the pitch?
37th minute: The Austrians have not written off the game yet. Salzburg announces itself shortly before the Munich penalty area with a dangerous shot from Bidstrup. However, the ball just misses the goal. Peretz doesn’t have to intervene.
33rd minute: Salzburg loses the ball too quickly. So Kimmich switches quickly and serves Müller, who passes through to Olise. The wing racer takes courage and takes off from almost 22 meters, which is worth seeing. Salzburg keeper Schlager goes long and saves the shot spectacularly.
29th minute: Goal for FC Bayern! Coach Kompany’s team seems snappy. Olise puts Schlager under pressure and anticipates his pass. The Frenchman is able to intercept the ball and hits the empty goal. After just under half an hour it was already 3-0 for Munich.
24th minute: Goal for FC Bayern! Kane shoots from the right from a tight angle, Salzburg goalkeeper Schlager parries the shot, but cannot clear the ball decisively. Müller is the quickest to switch gears and slide the ball into the goal.
22nd minute: The pace is still high. The German record champions show a good short passing game for long periods, but there are initially no further chances in front of the opponent’s goal.
15th minute: Salzburg has a lot to do. The Munich team increases the pressure on the Austrians every time they lose the ball and force bad passes.
10th minute: Goal for FC Bayern! Kimmich takes a corner and finds Dier’s head with a long cross. The Englishman will most likely be in the starting lineup on Saturday in Gladbach as Dayot Upamecano recently received his fifth yellow card and will have to sit out a game.
7th minute: Bayern keeper Peretz gets the first ball on his goal. The home team plays well in the Munich half, Diakité takes courage and shoots from around 18 meters to the left half. However, Peretz can safely intercept the shot.
4th minute: Bayern dominate the first few minutes. Now it becomes dangerous: Laimer passes through to Olise on the right, who dribbles his way into the Salzburg box. However, his cross is cleared.
1st minute: And the ball is rolling. Bayern initially play from right to left in red, Salzburg plays in white.
Before the game – It starts in a few minutes.
Before the game – Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund also commented before the game: “The days were short, but important. We only have one friendly game, but we don’t want to lose the rhythm and get used to it well. All players will get minutes of action.”
About the missing new player, among other things, he says: “Manu is on the way back, I hope that he will be there again on Saturday. But it looks good.” The Munich team starts the top game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday (from 6:30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker). Thomas Müller will initially take over the captain’s armband.
