Allegations surrounding the death of music mogul Simon Cowell, 65, have been swirling for a long time. Snopes– fact-checking service corrected rumors already in 2022.
The website found out the authenticity of the video spreading on social media. The video published on YouTube suggested that Cowell had slept off.
The time wasn’t the first time Snopes debunked allegations surrounding Cowell’s death. The website said that the scams have led to unreliable websites that did not share factual information, but did share malware.
Posts claiming that Cowell is dead are also currently circulating on Instagram. The comment fields have been filled with disbelieving comments, speculating on the veracity of the “death news”.
Music mogul’s namesake, founder of the charity Wildlife Aid Foundation Simon Cowell died of cancer in the summer of 2024, reported among other things BBC. The man who dedicated his life to saving animals was also known from TV, Wildlife SOS from the program.
However, the hoaxes spreading on social media have the image of Cowell, who became known as a TV producer and music mogul.
