WASHINGTON – US President Joe Biden signed a law on Tuesday that finally officially makes the bald eagle the national bird of the United States. The white-headed, yellow-beaked and brown-bodied bird of prey has appeared on the seal used on U.S. federal government documents, military insignia and the presidential flag since 1782. But it has not had an official status as a national bird for more than 240 years.
