The police expect to be able to tell more about the results of the large-scale action in the afternoon. 100 employees of the police and the Public Prosecution Service are involved in the action.
Encrypted chat messages
The drug lab was discovered in the night of Thursday 29 to Friday 30 July 2021. The police discovered the location on Hoogbosweg in Nederweert through information from encrypted chat messages.
When the police went to investigate, the extensive lab and two connected sheds were discovered. It turned out to be the largest crystal meth lab ever found in the Netherlands.
Millions
The production of large amounts of crystal meth involved millions of euros. According to the National Dismantling Support Facility (LFO), more than 100 kilograms of this drug could be made per day in this large and professionally set up production location. This amounted to a trade value of 1 million euros per day.
