FC Bayern is apparently increasing the number of hits in contract poker with Joshua Kimmich.
“Sky” reports a kind of ultimatum for the 29-year-old national player. Accordingly, FC Bayern is demanding that Joshua Kimmich make a clear statement about his future at the beginning of January.
The background is clear: Because the leading player’s contract is expiring, the Munich team needs a decision in order to look for a replacement at an early stage if necessary.
However, FC Bayern is actually under pressure in the negotiations. Because: Kimmich’s form curve has shown a steep upward trend again in the past few months after a weaker phase.
In terms of sport, Kimmich is indispensable for coach Vincent Kompany. In addition, the veteran has long been a figurehead for the club.
Those responsible are now said to have shelved the original plan to significantly reduce the salary of the former Stuttgart and Leipzig native. They are now desperately hoping for a (quick) confirmation from Kimmich.
However, such a situation is “unlikely”, according to the report, even though the professional recently announced that he would think concretely about his future during the winter break.
Kimmich’s departure would be a “loss” for FC Bayern
If Kimmich doesn’t continue at FC Bayern, he would probably be able to freely choose his new employer. Manchester City and FC Barcelona, among others, are said to be specifically dealing with him.
