Corona: Reproduction number back in danger zone

Between February 26 and March 4, an average of 6,066 new infections were detected daily, according to the latest update from health institute Sciensano. That is 9 percent less than in the seven days before.

On average, 32,600 tests were taken daily, of which 20.5 percent indicated a corona infection. There are still 2,069 patients with a COVID infection in Belgian hospitals.

Over the past week, an average of 141 COVID patients were hospitalized every day. Compared to the previous week, this is a decrease of 1 percent.

On average, 18 people still die every day from the consequences of a corona infection, a decrease of 26 percent compared to the previous period. Since the start of the pandemic, 30,296 people have succumbed to the virus in our country.
