The Wine Panorama Trail is one of the most popular walking and hiking trails in the region. On the one hand because of the wonderful view of the city of Heilbronn, but also because its location in the middle of the wine-growing region with wine bar, display boards on the subject of wine and works of art along the route has much more to offer than nature and views. From now on, the panorama trail, which is well-known among outdoor fans, has one more attraction. In the INTERSPORT headquarters in Heilbronn, the sporty concept for a keep-fit path was developed for the popular route along the Wartberg. The official inauguration will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2022. However, all sports enthusiasts can now use the INTERSPORT keep-fit path freely. The specially created website offers an overview of the 13 stations and all events and free training sessions.
Heilbronn has distinguished itself as a young university town in recent years and has given young people a new home during their studies. Heilbronn is also developing dynamically as a business location. The corona pandemic has shown all the more how positively sport and exercise influence health. At the same time, activity goes hand in hand with a more balanced attitude towards life and stress reduction – in all age groups. “In order to enable a sporting balance to everyday life close to the city, we very much welcome this new offer with the hands-on stations on the Wine Panorama Trail,” says Steffen Schoch, Managing Director of the Heilbronn Tourist Office and Heilbronn Marketing GmbH. The approximately six-kilometre-long route of the Wine Panorama Trail has always invited hikers, joggers or walkers to do sports far above the roofs of the city. “With the INTERSPORT keep-fit path, we can now offer Heilbronn residents and visitors to the city a professionally developed fitness, sports and health program,” says Schoch happily.
“With the new INTERSPORT keep-fit path, we want to make our contribution to sports enthusiasts and health-conscious people being able to stay active, fit and healthy in the fresh air. We are convinced that sport can lead to a better life. We want to support the athletes on this path – literally. Whether beginner or professional, whether young or old, whether endurance or strength, whether exercise or concentration – there is something for everyone. Regular courses are also planned to strengthen the community spirit in Heilbronn,” explains Alexander v. Preen, CEO of INTERSPORT Germany eG.
The INTERSPORT fitness trail has exercises ready at 13 stations where strength, flexibility and endurance can be trained – either on a 1.5 km or a 4 km long route. For the most part, no equipment is required for the stations of the holistically oriented training concept, so that individual elements can also be easily integrated into everyday life. With a wonderful view of the city of Heilbronn, you can jump over tree trunks or train your balance on the Wartberg and on the new INTERSPORT keep-fit path. Stones serve as weights: Training in nature and with natural materials is the motto!
The path ends with a cool-down station, where the muscles can be loosened and stretched through a number of exercises and optimally prepared for the next training session. Stress and strength are in harmony with relief and regeneration. Boredom is guaranteed not to arise: there is also a yoga and fitness station along the path. The exercise boards stationed there provide suggestions for guided, varied training at many levels of difficulty.
The community spirit is strengthened with monthly, free fitness and yoga courses. Trained trainers will offer a varied program that can give new sporting impulses to all performance and age groups. In addition, a joint running round is initiated. There, the personal running style can be further developed thanks to the professional feedback from the trainers: from rolling that is easy on the joints to performance-enhancing breathing techniques, both beginners and those interested in marathons get their money’s worth here.
On Saturday, March 12, at 11 a.m., the INTERSPORT keep-fit path will be officially inaugurated with a public sporting program. Mayor Harry Mergel, INTERSPORT CEO Dr. alexander v Preen, representative of the Heilbronn tourist office, which is responsible for maintaining the Wine Panorama Trail, and Steffen Schoch, managing director of Heilbronn Marketing GmbH, will try out the stations of the keep-fit trail together with all interested athletes. There will also be a guided, free yoga and fitness session with trained trainers. At the end of the opening event, with food and drinks suitable for athletes, you also have the opportunity to meet up for the next run or to develop plans for your own training. It is not necessary to register for the event, which is implemented in a Corona-compliant manner and under 3-G requirements. Meeting point is the hiking car park at the saddle Weinsberg/Heilbronn.
