The accident happened yesterday evening around 6:30 PM on Hoekestraat in Hoeke. When the emergency services arrived, all help came too late for the driver, there were no other occupants.
The public prosecutor’s office has since appointed a traffic expert, but it is still unclear how the car ended up in the canal.
