Less than two weeks away, heavyweight rivals Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will enter the ring for their eagerly awaited rematch. At sport.de, boxing legend Lennox Lewis explains why fans can expect another spectacle.

“I think it will be a good fight again. In the end it depends on the style,” said the Brit in an interview with RTL Nord and at the WBC congress in Hamburg sport.de. Defending champion Usyk has “a great fighting style,” praised Lewis of the Ukrainian.

His compatriot Fury, on the other hand, is “a big guy who moves well and hits well. That’s why it will be a hotly contested number,” said the former world champion.

Usyk and Fury will meet for the second time on December 21st. Usyk narrowly won the first fight 2-1 after twelve rounds and was crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lewis in 1999. Fury suffered the first defeat of his professional career.

The “Gypsy King” didn’t like the unusual feeling, said Lewis: “He’s coming to win this time. But he’s fighting against someone who has never lost before. That’s why it’s going to be a great fight.”

Boxing: Moorer sees Usyk as having an advantage against Fury

Former champion Michael Moorer is committed to Usyk winning again: “I always bet on the southpaw (southpaw, editor’s note) – and Usyk is one, like me,” he said. The American became the first left-handed heavyweight world champion in 1994 with a victory over Evander Holyfield.

Moorer’s former World Cup opponent Axel Schulz also sees the Ukrainian as having an advantage. “I was wrong in the first fight,” admitted the German boxing favorite: “I wanted to see Fury win as a seasoned heavyweight. Then Usyk did it, especially because of that ninth round and the ailing Fury. That was gigantic. I I’m looking forward to the rematch.”
