Reaching the finals was a unique achievement in itself. Never before in the history of the prestigious tournament, the Netherlands reached the final battle. Greek track lost in the quarter-finals and finals to world top players Carlos Alcaraz from Spain and the Italian Jannik Sinner, but recorded a decisive victory over the German Jan-Lennard Struff in the semi-finals. The men had already reached the semi-finals once before in 2001, but the final was something new. The Netherlands lost to Italy in the final battle.
World ranking
Last year, Mozespoor also won the prize for the best tennis player in the Netherlands. This year he was once again chosen by the jury, consisting of Kristie Boogert, Richard Krajicek and Sjeng Schalke, over Botic van de Zandschulp, Jesper de Jong, Gijs Brouwer and Tim van Rijthoven.
However, in the world rankings, Greek Spoor fell from 23rd to 40th position this year. At the four Grand Slams, Greek Spoor did not get further than the third round at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open. At Wimbledon, Greek Spoor was finished after two rounds.
