FC Ingolstadt added the next three points to their points account on matchday 17. Coach Sabrina Wittmann’s team narrowly won 1-0 against the guests from FC Erzgebirge Aue.
FC Ingolstadt is back on the road to success in the duel against FC Erzgebirge Aue. After the narrow 1.0 win, the Schanzer now have 26 points in their account on matchday 17 and are still keeping an eye on the promotion places.
FCI starts dynamically
Ingolstadt didn’t want to let anything go wrong after the 1-0 defeat at Arminia Bielefeld and quickly took control of the game. However, the post prevented the Schanzer from getting off to a perfect start in the seventh minute. David Kopacz simply shot from a good 18 meters, but the ball hit the post and then jumped out of the danger zone off goalkeeper Martin Männel’s heel. Shortly before, Sebastian Grönning had already pushed the play equipment over the line. However, he was offside when Kopacz passed the ball.
The FCI remained dangerous, but the guests also fought their way into the game and looked for their chance. Rosenloch’s shot narrowly missed the far post. However, the hosts’ momentum increasingly weakened and dangerous shots became rare. Aue also couldn’t really pose a threat to Marius Funk in the Schanzer goal. And so it went into the break with a score of 0-0.
Besuschkow scores, Aue misses the equalizer
Coach Sabrina Wittmann had probably turned the right screws in the dressing room, because shortly after the restart the bell rang in Aue’s box. After losing the ball in their own half, the guests were unable to get into a duel with Kanurić, who sent the ball to Max Besuschkow just outside the penalty area. After a strong reception, he sank the ball into the far corner on the right. In the 82nd minute the victory was shaky for a moment, but Bär chased the ball past Funk to the right of the goal, completely free of charge. Even injury time did not result in another goal. That’s how it stayed with Upper Bavaria’s 1-0 win.
