Several footballers in Madrid have been victims of a series of burglaries in the past – including one from Real. The suspected perpetrators have now been caught.
After a series of burglaries at the homes of a number of football stars in Madrid, Spanish police have arrested the suspected perpetrators. The six-member gang is said to have stolen money, jewelry, luxury watches and valuables during their raids. A police spokeswoman announced this in the capital on Wednesday.
The total of eight incidents have occurred since July 2022, affecting professionals Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Radamel Falcao (Rayo Vallecano). Rodrygo was hit particularly hard in May 2023 when items worth a good 500,000 euros were said to have been stolen from the Brazilian’s house in the municipality of Alcobendas.
The investigators tracked down the thieves, who specialized in professional football players, when they wanted to sell their loot. During the arrest, cash, jewelry and watches as well as pistols were seized.
