There will be a change at FC Bayern in the summer. Apparently the club has some potential new additions on the list. Top stars could leave Munich for this.
Max Eberl has been working as the new sports director at FC Bayern for almost two weeks. The 50-year-old is already planning for the coming transfer summer. The Munich team is facing a squad shake-up – and probably has a few players on the list.
As “Sport Bild” reports, the club is interested in Chris Führich. The German international is under contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2028 and is currently playing a strong season with the Swabians, to which he has contributed seven goals and seven assists so far.
But: Führich should have an exit clause. If VfB reaches the Champions League this season, it will probably be 23.5 million euros. It is said that the midfielder could further stimulate the competition on the offensive.
Not Palhinha: Zubimendi shall come
The German record champions are also still looking for a defensive midfielder. Fulham’s João Palhinha, who was actually in Munich last summer, probably won’t be. The club has refrained from making a commitment.
The focus is now on Martín Zubimendi from Spanish Champions League participant Real Sociedad. He also has an exit clause, which is said to be 60 million euros. FC Bayern faces competition for a commitment from the English league leaders FC Arsenal with their Spanish coach Mikel Arteta.
Interesting: According to the report, Zubimendi has the same agent as Xabi Alonso. The Bayern Leverkusen coach is considered FC Bayern’s preferred candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving at the end of the season.
Because of Xavi: New attempt at Araújo?
Manu Koné and Jeremie Frimpong could also move to Munich in the summer. Eberl once brought Koné to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Whether the Frenchman really comes to Bayern would test Eberl’s trust in the club’s scouting department. Because: Koné is said to have been rated by them as inconsistent and prone to errors. The 22-year-old has also been injured several times in his career.
Frimpong is currently having an outstanding season (eight goals, seven assists). The Dutch full-back is the frontrunner with Leverkusen and also has a release clause that, according to “Sport Bild”, has to be drawn before the European Championships. Frimpong would cost €40 million.
In addition, interest in Ronald Araújo should continue. In the winter, FC Barcelona did not let the central defender go. The reason is said to have been coach Xavi, who reportedly threatened to throw out. Now the coach is leaving the Catalans in the summer, which, according to the report, will revive hopes of a transfer at FC Bayern. Araújo’s release clause is said to be almost in the three-digit million range.
Top stars could go: national players included
In total, FC Bayern could face transfer expenses of over 200 million euros in this constellation. The club now agrees that this can only be achieved through sales from other professionals.
