Season 2 of The Finals is one step away: let’s find out when we can start playing and what the key news will be.

Season 2 of The Finals will launch on March 14, 2024, with a new map, game mode, gadgets and weapons that will allow players of the spectacular free-to-play shooter to take to the field with a completely different style thanks to the power Some hackers.

The Finals Season 2: new map —

A rogue hacker collective called CNS has compromised the game show that players participate in as part of The Finals, which leads to a series of tricks in Season 2. One of them is the new map introduced in Season 2, SYS$HORIZON. It is a glitched and neon-colored cityscape where visual bugs and faulty geometry allow you to move in completely unexpected ways, surprising your opponents.

New gadgets —

For even more reality-altering powers, The Finals Season 2 has the all-new Hacker gameplay style. It features a host of new gadgets that allow you to remove terrain, manipulate gravity and transform objects.

Here is an overview of the new gadgets of The Finals Season 2:

  • The Dematerializer for Mediums: a specialization that temporarily erases physical surfaces, such as walls, ceilings or objects, allowing competitors to see, shoot and pass through them. Create new passages and close them behind you, to transform every obstacle into an open door.
  • The Anti-Gravity Cube for the Heavy: a cube that manipulates gravity in its immediate vicinity, lifting competitors and objects upwards! Is it a movement tool? Or a defensive gadget? It’s up to you to decide!
  • The Lightweight Gateway: A pair of limited-range portals! When both are launched and activated, contestants and objects can move between the two locations. Anyone can use a portal, but players cannot see or shoot through it! Perfect for a quick getaway when things get tough.
  • The Data Reshaper for the Medes: a gadget that transforms enemy fortifications (or any other random object) into something completely different, like a mine in a chair or a turret in a table. Great for breaching enemy defenses!

New weapons —

If you’re not interested in these types of toys, don’t worry: The Finals Season 2 is also expanding the arsenal of weapons:

  • 93R (Light): Burst machine gun.
  • FAMAS (Medium): Burst-fire assault rifle.
  • KS-23 (Heavy): Shotgun.

Season 2 Finale: New Game Mode —

As for using all these new tools, Embark Studios is also improving the variety in the form of an additional game mode called Power Shift. Pitting two teams of five players against each other, Power Shift is a tug-of-war type mode. Both teams must escort a floating platform in opposite directions. With platforms capable of destroying terrain and being affected by physics, this mode takes full advantage of The Finals’ impressive technical base. For more competitive players, Season 2 features a revamped League System for an improved ranked gaming experience, with weekly rewards and streamlined career progression. Tests for private matches will also be available in Season 2.
