Sniffer dogs find drugs in storage boxes in Amsterdam

Dozens of storage boxes were visited with the help of sniffer dogs at various locations, including Kattenburgerstraat, Conradstraat, Compagniestraat, Grote Wittenburgerstraat and Cruquiusstraat.

Five boxes were then opened for further inspection. Various drugs, including ecstasy pills, hashish, hemp, amphetamine and cocaine residues, were found in those boxes. Officers also found materials for setting up a cannabis plantation, ATMs, seal bags, pressing equipment, scales and adulterants. All items have been confiscated.

With the box checks, the police want to increase visibility of subversive activities and tackle them. The police also want to increase the sense of safety of local residents with the checks. The police received information from local residents, among other things, about people walking with big shoppers at night and that there was an odor of cannabis in stairwells.
