Three deer entered the water at the end of the morning in the Noord-Willemskanaal between De Punt and Vries. One of the animals did not survive.
The Vries fire brigade rescued a deer from the water near the canal dike. One deer managed to get out of the water on its own, a third deer drowned.
The rescued deer was warmed by the firefighters and then released into nature.
