Here’s everything that happened on the eventful Serie C Sunday, with all three groups involved.

Padova collapses on the Giana pitch, falling nine points from the top (Mantova, in Saturday’s advance match, overwhelmed Pergolettese): Torrente’s team is deservedly beaten (2-0, brace by Franzoni with a goal in each half ), not benefiting from the five new lineups compared to the midweek derby. Vicenza itself, after the draw against Euganeo, returned to success by extending its positive streak: Arzignano beat (1-0) thanks to Golemic’s goal, despite being numerically inferior for half the second half after Della Morte’s red. AlbinoLeffe and Novara move forward with draws (Zanica’s 0-0 is the third in a row for the Bergamo team). Triestina-Alessandria was postponed to a later date due to rain.

Torres’ golden moment continues, achieving their sixth consecutive victory against Entella (2-1) and locking up second place (top for one night at minus 6, awaiting the Cesena-Gubbio postponement): the second is decisive brace in a row at Francesco Ruocco’s home – Petermann’s equalizer in the middle -, together with the penalty saved by Zaccagno from Santini at 1-0. In the race for third place, Perugia – who beat Ancona on Saturday – nibbles two points away from Carrarese, who were held to a 2-2 draw in Pescara: ahead first with Della Latta and then with Finotto, Calabro’s team is reached twice by Merola on a penalty and by Pierno in the final. Draw in Alessandria between Juventus Next Gen and Pontedera (1-1, an opponent never overcome by the young Bianconeri over the years, Sekulov makes up for Savona’s own goal). Francesco Disanto’s first goal of the season was enough for Lucchese to overcome Olbia (1-0), increasingly in crisis in penultimate place. Arezzo beat Vis Pesaro (2-1) with the signatures of Chiosa and Guccione, for the Marche region (three defeats in the last four) it wasn’t enough to shorten with Nicastro. Mimmo Di Carlo’s Spal are pulled out of the playout zone, condemning Rimini (3-1 at Mazza) to their third consecutive defeat and having to watch their backs: after Gigli’s own goal Antenucci doubles, the same Rimini defender scores in the right goal to shorten, before Tripaldelli’s trio. Debut with a point for Andrea Mosconi on the Fermana bench (who protested for a couple of dubious episodes in the area): the 1-1 draw with Pineto, however, did not allow them to overtake Olbia at the bottom, in the first half Petrungaro responded immediately to take the lead guest of Germinario.

While awaiting the postponement of Juve Stabia-Taranto, Benevento slows down and – after four victories in a row – is stopped at Vigorito by Messina (1-1): ahead with Lanini (four goals in the last three games), Auteri’s team is reached at the end by Frisenna, a long-range marksman. Avellino also equalized in Francavilla (0-0), with a post from Cionek but also saves from Ghidotti to save the green and white goal. Another collapse of Silvio Baldini’s Crotone, after the ephemeral success of Messina: Latina (3-1) passes at Scida with Capanni, Mazzocco and Fella, shortens Gomez but it’s not enough to also avoid public protest. Catania’s new course, with the bench entrusted to Zeoli, begins with the 0-0 draw at Massimino against Potenza: at least a couple of chances on both fronts, in a match that started half an hour late due to the remaining guests’ bus stuck in a curve while leaving the retreat in Acitrezza. Sorrento, with Capasso’s first professional goal – an error by Perina helps the former Primavera Viola – slows down (1-1) the playoff run of Cudini’s Foggia, ahead with Simone Tascone’s first joy in the Rossoneri (reinforcement of January). Monopoli’s comeback success in Cerignola (3-1) was important in terms of salvation: Tommasini, Borello and Sosa replied to Vuthaj’s advantage. Few emotions in Brindisi-Giugliano (0-0): the home team, which remains last, is unable to take advantage of the extra man due to the early expulsion of Romano (18′).
