It is teeming with yellow information boards at the intersection between Dr. JW Paltelaan and Eerste Stationsstraat. In addition to the expired diversion sign, there are also yellow signs stating that the Nutricia parking lot and some companies are accessible. But that is only for local traffic.
Take a detour via the JW Paltelaan
Every day, traffic controllers remind road users of the correct diversion route via JW Paltelaan. Cyclists, scooter riders and walkers can move on Eerste Stationsstraat, but car and freight traffic cannot. Upon inquiry, it appears that the installation of new fiber optic cables started at the beginning of this year. This work is finished.

Stedin and Dunea are currently working on the Eerste Stationsstraat. Stedin cannot yet answer how long this work will take and what it means for Zoetermeer motorists. The editors of indebuur do know that both companies will still be working for months. “We have to take week 40 into account,” says an employee on site. This means that Dunea and Stedin will have finished their work at the beginning of October. “But,” the employee continues, “the municipality will then also carry out repair work. So people have to take into account, in total, the duration of a year.”
