More Germans are taking part in the all-around world speed skating championships in Inzell than initially planned.
In the men’s sprint, alongside Hendrik Dombek from Munich and Moritz Klein from Erfurt, his clubmate Stefan Emele will also be competing. This is evident from the start lists updated a few hours before the start of the competition.
The German speed skating and short track community benefited from the absence of Polish athletes, so Emele will take part in the World Sprint Championships over 500 and 1000 meters on Thursday and Friday. Berlin’s Lea Sophie Scholz also moved up in the women’s sprint and will compete alongside local hero Anna Ostlender.
