It is not yet clear what exactly happened, although an accident is said to have happened at a fairground attraction in Diepenbeek around 6 p.m. A young woman in her twenties was riding the fast caterpillar with a friend when, for an unknown reason, she became loose from the attraction. She suffered minor injuries to her head. Emergency services were contacted and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. “I didn’t think the attraction was safe,” says a fairgoer, “and I feel very guilty that I let my son go on it. No seat belt, no safety bar,… nothing.”
