This morning a large aircraft bomb was found on the beach near the Queen Elisabeth Institute in Koksijde. The bomb weighing more than 100 kilograms was moved towards the Schipgatduinen.
The DOVO mine clearance service arrived on the scene and safely detonated the explosive device. In principle, such bombs are common in that region. They are deep under the sand, so there is a good chance that you have walked over them without conscience.
