Peter Forsberg was on a reality TV show across the atlantic. The hockey legend told about his sailing trip to Örnsköldsvik Allenahndafor the magazine.
– I will not forget my days in the Atlantic, “Foppa” states right at the beginning of the interview.
The 17-day trip started in Spain from Gran Canaria and ended in St. Marti in the Caribbean. The most confusing situation of the trip happened one night, when a flying fish jumped out of the water and attacked Forsberg. An uninvited guest bumped into the man’s ear.
– I really wasn’t prepared for that. It didn’t happen, but it was amazing, Forsberg recalls.
After the attack, the fish crawled onto the deck of the boat.
– One of the crew members picked it up and threw it back into the water. After that, everything continued as normal.
According to Forsberg, the situation was not recorded on video, but he believes that there is audio material of it.
– This must have happened before, that the flying fish comes in – and eventually somehow ends up in the kitchen. You should be awake there in the dark, Forsberg jokes.
Flying fish are found in warm oceans. Fly jumps are usually 30–50 meters long, but at their best the fish are up to 100 meters in the air.
Forsberg survived the trip without feeling sick, and the man describes the trip as a wonderful experience. Despite this, the puck hero was not enthusiastic about ocean sailing.
– It was incredible, but I wouldn’t do it again.
