Sports reporter Gisele Kümpel was shocked in the recent match between Internacional and Gremio in Brazil.
Küumpel, who works as a reporter for Rádio Monumental, said For Globothat the football mascot molested him during the match.
Kümpel told Globo that he was sitting behind the second goal and noticed during the match that the mascot was behaving strangely. The mascot made gestures in the woman’s direction.
– I wasn’t the only woman there. There were other reporters there, but he made those gestures just for me.
The situation became more stressful after Internacional’s 3–2 winning goal.
– He came to hug me at that moment. He continued to hug me and even though he was wearing a mascot head, he grabbed me by the head and kissed me. I heard the sound of kissing and felt his sweat.
Kümpel started shaking, was scared and had a panic attack. The reporter filed a criminal complaint against the person who acted as the mascot and Internacional fired him.
Kümpel has 12- and 10-year-old daughters. He wondered for a long time whether he was overreacting.
– I didn’t overreact. I just can’t stand by and let this happen to them too in a short amount of time.
