Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3: maximum grip on wet surfaces

Pirelli presented the new set of 4-season tires for medium and compact cars

New year, new Pirelli Cinturato All Season Sf3, latest update of the four seasons for medium and compact cars. Dedicated above all to motorists who move around the city and who need safe equipment all year round, the All Season Sf3 guarantees excellent grip even on the slipperiest road surfaces. From wetso much so that all the sizes in the range have obtained the highest classification on the European label (class A) in wet grip; on the snow, as guaranteed by the 3Pmsf marking, which identifies tires that have passed a test course in severe winter conditions; in the dry, where it has levels of stability, acoustic comfort and rolling resistance closer to those of a summer tire than a winter one. A versatility confirmed by the Dekra tests, which elect the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 the best in its category for combined braking (the sum of performance on dry, wet and snow).

adaptive tread

The adaptive tread technology with 3D sipes introduced with the All Season Sf2 has been perfected with the aim of providing grip on snow throughout the entire life cycle of the Sf3 series tyre. In fact, with the wear of the tread, the sipes change their shape and from straight lines they take on a zig-zag pattern, increasing the surface capable of capturing the snow despite the reduction in depth given by the consumption of the rubber. The adaptive behavior of the design is also found in the mobility of the sipes: thanks to the ability to close and compact under the high forces exerted between the footprint and the asphalt, both dry and wet, they transform the tread, which from siped winter to summer, much more rigid and compact, improving braking performance, road holding and driving precision. Wider grooves and sharper angles in the directional pattern also contribute to aiding walking on snow compared to the tread of the previous generation. Characteristics that also favor the rapid expulsion of water, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
