NBA, results for Sunday 25 February

Milwaukee passes to Philadelphia without problems, a few minutes on the pitch and no points for Gallinari. Phoenix beats LeBron with a good team effort

In the first two games of the packed Sunday program, Milwaukee wins against Philadelphia, which without Embiid is a completely different team. The Lakers lose in Phoenix against a team that appeared superior despite Beal’s absence.

PHILADELPHIA-MILWAUKEE 98-119

Giannis dominates and if Lillard and Beasley’s shooting work alongside him (6/7 from 3 for the former Minnesota player) there is little the Sixers can do, without their star and little helped by a less incisive Harris. At the end of the first quarter the Bucks are already at +14, in the third period Maxey and the revived Melton experience a flare-up, but the game is never in question. Gallinari’s impact was completely negligible, playing only 7 minutes, missing the two shots taken from the field.

Philadelphia: Maxey 24, Melton 16, Reed 13. Rebounds: Oubre 9. Assists: Maxey 7.

Milwaukee: GALLINARI 0 points in 7′ with 0/2 from the field, Antetokounmpo 30, Lillard 24, Beasley 20. Rebounds: Antetokounmpo 12. Assists: Lillard and Giannis 9.

PHOENIX SUNS-LOS ANGELES LAKERS 123-133

The Suns lead from start to finish, showing an attack excellently managed by Devin Booker and very well balanced (4 players over 20 points and a sumptuous Nurkic with 18+22 rebounds). The Lakers, who stopped at the double doubles of LeBron and Davis, were down 17 at the end of the first quarter and have the merit of not struggling, even reaching within 2 in the second half. But Booker and the excellent Royce O’Neale (6 triples topped with a double double) and Greyson Allen take care of closing the games.

Phoenix: Allen 24 (2/5; 6/12), Durant 22, Booker 21, O’Neale 20. Rebounds: Nurkic 22. Assists: Booker 9.

Los Angeles: James 28 (9/13; 3/6), Davis 22, Russell 20. Rebounds: Davis 13. Assists: James 12.
