7:09 p.m
Clément Noël (FRA)
Clément Noël is the first to come a little closer to Straßer’s time. Especially in the last flat section, he keeps up the pace well, works with his legs and is “only” four tenths behind.
7:08 p.m
Daniel Yule (SUI)
Daniel Yule actually starts promisingly and doesn’t get too far behind at the top. However, the Swiss become more passive towards the bottom, so that the gap increases significantly.
7:06 p.m
Timon Haugan (NOR)
Haugan also obviously has problems keeping up with Straßer’s brilliant ride. The gap builds up in a similar way to Kristoffersen, at least it remains at less than a second.
19:02
Linus Strasser (GER)
Straßer shows that there is much more to this route. The DSV athlete runs without any problems, finds the rhythm of the run right from the start and skis an extremely clean steep slope. Those are exactly his conditions and that is reflected in the times. At each split time he takes a little away from Kristoffersen and is 1.21 seconds faster than the Norwegian.
7:01 p.m
Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR)
With a strong second place, just behind Odermatt, Kristoffersen once again showed what he is capable of in yesterday’s giant slalom. Today he is also flawless between the poles and quite lively on a piste that is still perfect. But can he keep up with the top athletes? The first guide time is 52.86 seconds.
18:58
Kristoffersen opens
The Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen will open the slalom on the USA trip in sunny weather and blue skies.

ÖSV is strong across the board
While the red-white-red flag was rarely seen on the podium in other disciplines, things looked much better in the slalom this winter. It started with a triple victory in Gurgl, but a few weeks later the loss of Marco Schwarz hurt. Now, among the absolute world elite, only the man in the red jersey, Manuel Feller, is there for the ÖSV team. Dominik Raschner, Fabio Gstrein, Michael Matt, Johannes Strolz, Adrian Pertl and co. provide a broadly good team.
6:49 p.m
Holzmann in the shadow of Straßer
In the German team, Straßer is the figurehead across all disciplines this year with his victories in the prestigious slalom races in Kitzbühel and Schladming. Sebastian Holzmann developed well alongside him and was in the second round of every slalom in the winter except for Chamonix (eliminated). He has already achieved three top 15 places, and number four is expected to follow today. Anton Tremmel has reached round two twice so far this season, the last remaining DSV driver Fabian Himmelsbach hasn’t reached it yet.
6:40 p.m
Yule and the Swiss
Daniel Yule won the last ranked slalom in Chamonix. He follows Feller and Straßer in third place in the slalom ranking and is therefore one of the biggest favorites for today’s victory. Loïc Meillard and Marc Rochat are two other hotshots from the Swiss team, who are currently doing well in seventh and ninth place in the slalom rankings. Ramon Zenhäuser is having a weak season so far and wants to do better in the final races.
18:34
Feller vs. Strasser?
The best slalom rider of the season to date, Manuel Feller, is 164 points ahead of his closest pursuer Linus Straßer (490:326). Can the German still have hopes for an exciting German-Austrian duel for the ball? After all, Straßer has won two of the last three (rated) slalom races, Feller’s last victory between the poles was on January 14th in Wengen. There are still 400 points to be awarded in the four remaining slaloms; the trip to the USA with stops in Palisades Tahoe and Aspen will probably shed light on Straßer’s remaining chances.
18:29
Slalom ball still up for grabs
With Marco Odermatt’s giant slalom victory yesterday, Saturday, the overall World Cup winner for this season has now been determined purely mathematically – extremely early. The small giant slalom ball can no longer be taken away from the Swiss dominator; things are currently looking good for Odermatt in downhill and Super G too. The only crystal ball in which the Swiss have no say is that of the slalom classification.
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Palisades Tahoe Men’s Slalom! The fourth last slalom of the season begins at 7 p.m. CET.
