Belgian beaches exceed the European thresholds for good environmental status on almost all points. This was evident on Wednesday from the first measurements by the non-profit organization Proper Strand Lopers on behalf of the Minister of the North Sea Paul Van Tigchelt (Open Vld) and the Marine Environment Service of the FPS Public Health. Plastic waste and construction waste are the two largest categories of waste that end up on Belgian beaches.
