Venezia skipper Joel Pohjanpalo already became the top scorer in Serie B.
The Helsinki native finished both of his team’s goals as it drew 2-2 with Modena, better known for its cars.
The first one came at the very end of the opening period from a tough one, when Modena Thomas Battistella poured Francesco Zampano inside the box. Pohjanpalo definitely placed the ball in the net.
The second came from a special situation, when Pohjanpalo was able to fire in with the power of a loose ball after a corner kick. A goal in the 71st minute put the hosts in the lead again, but in the end the team had to settle for a 2–2 draw.
The guests Antonio Palumbo finished the final numbers with a comma as well.
Pohjanpalo’s double brought the man’s number of goals to 13 already. At the same time, he overtook those who remained scoreless in this round Daniele Casiraghi (Südtirol) and Massimo Codan (Cremonese) in Serie B power statistics.
Huuhkajat-Kerki now holds the number one spot in the goal exchange.
