Mild weather will continue for a while, the weekend will end with heavy rain

Until the end of next week, temperatures will remain mild for this time of year. We just can’t keep it dry: the showers will start on Sunday and the changeable weather will remain over our province for a while.

This afternoon it was cloudy, according to NH weatherman Jan Visser. It remained dry except for a few showers. Afternoon temperatures ranged from 9 to 10 degrees on the Wadden to between 11 and 13 degrees in the rest of the country. The wind will gradually blow from the southwest everywhere and will be weak to moderate.

Saturday night will initially be dry. The wind blows from the southwest to south and becomes moderate, on the coast and on the IJsselmeer quite strong to strong.

We won’t last long in that dry weather. According to Visser, Sunday will be ‘completely in vain’ and he expects a lot of rain. It will become dry again from the northwest during Sunday evening.

Occasionally sun

The temperature will be around 10 degrees on Sunday. The south to southwest wind is moderate. The wind is quite strong at the sea and on the IJsselmeer. On Sunday evening the wind will shift to the northwest and decrease slightly in strength.

There will be falls on Monday probably a few showers, but the quantities are not too bad. It will remain dry almost everywhere on Tuesday and occasionally we see the sun emerge. Even then, temperatures will remain mild, reaching 10 to 11 degrees on both Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

Winter weather

Visser: “From Wednesday it will be changeable again and it will remain fairly mild until Friday.” The weatherman also predicts more wind for some time. The temperature will be well above 10 degrees on Thursday.

But hanging the winter coats in the attic is not a good plan either. On Friday and during the last weekend of February, temperatures become less mild again. “We will then end up deeper in polar air,” says Visser.
