U2 join forces with David Guetta for “Atomic City”.

U2 are trying something new with oomph and releasing their track “Atomic City” in a remix by David Guetta.

The Irish first released the single in September 2023 to draw attention to the beginning of their Las Vegas residency in the MSG Sphere, where they will be playing their full-length album “Aehrung Baby” from 1991 until March perform live.

More party vibe?

“Atomic City” should be seen as a homage to the post-punk of the 70s and artists like Blondie and The Clash. However, the EDM new edition by the French hype DJ and producer David Guetta goes far away from rock and towards an electro party beat.

U2 already performed “Atomic City” for the Grammys

The band performed “Atomic City” live on stage at the Grammys – with the performance being broadcast from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. The performance began with a camera showing the outside of the Sphere, which is made up of LED screens. U2’s live gig could then be seen on the spherical building before the camera flew through the entrance doors and offered a 360-degree view of the audience, the band and the room.

U2 last performed live at the Grammys in 2018 when they performed a medley of some of the US rapper’s songs with Kendrick Lamar. Afterwards they also performed their piece “Get Out of Your Own Way”.
