The task included acquiring products and pricing them, decorating the shop and, of course, selling them. The winner of the competition was announced based on the concept, the comfort of the shop and respect for the brand, as well as the sales result.

The Tarmo team had the best concept. However, the Liidi team met the other requirements, so the team was named the winner.
Served as project manager of the Tarmo team Essi Paltamaawho said already in the planning phase that he had created hundreds of stores on three different continents.
However, the team’s idea of selling the artists’ fan products did not come to fruition. I would like to work as a boss Jaajo Linnonmaa according to the team failed in acquiring partners, finding customers in the right place and engaging brands.
Based on Linnonmaa’s feedback, Essi ended up choosing under the threat of relegation Miki Puikkonen and Elias “Mäksä” Mäkinen. Linnonmaa stated that it was difficult to choose the runner-up from the trio.
In the end, Linnonmaa decided to fire Ess, who, according to him, did not meet the problem-solving ability requirement of a good leader this time. Essi’s elimination came as a shock to many contestants.

– I was also surprised, because by that time my name had not come up when possible relegators were named among the teams. However, the project manager always has the final responsibility for the success of the task, so I fully understand Jaajo’s decision, Paltamaa adds to Iltalehte.
– I fell from a very personal task, which had a lot of loading specifically because of the personal elements. In light of that, I could have been more upset, but maybe my attitude in general in life is that every closing door is a new opportunity, and that was the case now.
A special connection
However, Paltamaa continues by adding that he didn’t have anything bad left in his tooth cavity. He also feels that his own network grew both professionally and in terms of new friends.
An interesting coincidence regarding Diili’s Redi mission and Paltamaa is that Essi’s current career continues from where his Diili stint ended. Linkedin profile and Red’s website he started as concept manager of the Red shopping center in October 2023.
– My recruitment process with Red had started before the filming of Diil started. Redi didn’t know that I was participating in the filming, and of course I didn’t know that I would end up doing the Diili assignment for Redi, Paltamaa opens.
