A motorist knocked a tree out of the ground in the Looveltlaan in Oss around half past six this evening. The driver narrowly missed a bus stop.
According to a police spokesperson, it was a one-vehicle accident. The driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The driver ended up with the car on the cycle path, hit a post and then collided with a tree.
The fire brigade had to come because smoke was coming from under the hood of the car. It turned out not to be necessary to extinguish the fire. Firefighters sawed the fallen tree into pieces. Municipal employees cleaned the road surface. The badly damaged car was taken away by a towing company.
The driver was examined by ambulance personnel. It is not known whether the victim had to go to hospital.
