Report: VfB Stuttgart is negotiating with Brighton about Dahoud – loan with option to buy

The next possible candidate for midfield at VfB Stuttgart: “Sky” is bringing former Dortmund player Mahmoud Dahoud from Brighton & Hove Albion into play with the Swabians. The former German international has not played a role on the English south coast for weeks.

Reporter Patrick Berger reports that VfB is pushing for the transfer. Dahoud is also open to a return to the Bundesliga. The 28-year-old left the German upper house on a free transfer in the summer and with lots of praise from Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi. The native Syrian barely got going with the Premier League club, was sent off with a red card on matchday 13 after five starting eleven appearances in the league and has only been allowed to play for one half since then.

At VfB, various midfielders have been mentioned as possible new additions in recent weeks, while the center is well occupied and long-term with Atakan Karazor and Angelo Stiller. According to reports, Yannik Keitel from SC Freiburg has already been signed as an addition for the coming season. TM user “Eber1893” writes about Dahoud in the rumor mill: “If the conditions are right, that would be a mega transfer” (join the discussion now!).

In my opinion, the transfer would be a real sign of where we want to go in the short and at least medium term.
I stopped following him in the Premier League. He apparently no longer had any relevance in the last few games after serving his red card suspension.
Players from Brighton are of course a lot more suitable for us anyway, as we basically copied our playing system from there. Thank you de Zerbi at this point.^^

The Stuttgart team brought Deniz Undav from Brighton this season, including a purchase option. According to Berger, there should also be one for Dahoud. Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth is speaking with advisor Armand Doorn (“Epic Sports”) and negotiations with the English are also well advanced. German clubs can still be active on the transfer market until Thursday, 6 p.m.
