Jürgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool FC at the end of the season. The trainer announced this in a video message on the X platform.
An era is coming to an end: Jürgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool FC at the end of the 2024 season. The German coach announced his decision in a video message from the club on X (formerly Twitter).
“I can understand that this will be a shock for a lot of people at this moment when they hear it for the first time,” said Klopp. “But of course I can explain it or try to explain it.” He loves everything about the club, the city and the team. The fact that he still made this decision shows how convinced he is of it.
“I’m running out of energy,” said Klopp, justifying the move. And: “I think I’ve known for a while that I have to announce this at some point. I know that I can’t do the job over and over again.”
After all the time he spent at the club, the respect and love for the fans grew. “The least I owe you is the truth. And that is the truth.”
Klopp took over Liverpool FC in 2015. The 56-year-old got the club back on the road to success. In 2019 he won the Champions League with the “Reds”. He also won the League Cup and FA Cup in 2022. But he celebrated his masterpiece in 2020. After 30 years, Liverpool FC was finally able to win the title in the English Premier League again.
