Russian President Vladimir Putin (71) arrived in Kaliningrad today for a rare visit to the far-western region, located between the NATO countries Poland and Lithuania. Despite rumors that Putin would like to provoke a conflict in the Baltic states, the Kremlin says the visit is not a provocation. “The president simply wants to make our country and its regions better,” he said.
