In the coming days, NH will have a pop-up editorial team in IJmuiden to talk to residents and entrepreneurs about the explosion of violence in recent months. The violent incidents follow each other in quick succession and this is probably due to a battle between two rival drug gangs.
The mayor of IJmuiden has almost the entire port designated as a safety risk area because the nuisance is extreme.
But also in many other places things happen that cannot tolerate daylight and residents are occasionally startled by nighttime explosions and shootings on the streets. This no longer only happens in the center of the big city, but also in quiet residential areas and small villages.
