The 59th hill rally in history – more modernly called the Arctic Lapland Rally – will be held on the first weekend of February.
Iltalehti reported last week that the reigning world champion of the sport will also take the starting line Kalle Rovanperäwho is adjusting his Toyota Yaris in Lapland for the Swedish snow rally.
– We have considered that it fits well into the calendar as a test race, Toyota’s team manager Jari-Matti Latvala told.
Latvala himself drives the nostalgia cannon Toyota Celica in the race.
Rovanperä confirmed his participation in the competition organized in Rovaniemi in the instant messaging service X on Monday evening.
