Prime Minister Rutte will pay a working visit to the province of Groningen on Wednesday, January 24. The visit focuses on the progress of the reinforcement operation and damage handling in the earthquake area.
The visit to Groningen starts in Appingedam. There, the Prime Minister will talk to support center staff and administrators from the Institute for Mining Damage Groningen and the National Coordinator Groningen. He also speaks with employees of the Special Situations Committee and the Stuck Situations Intervention Team about their work and the progress of the claims settlement.
In Garrelsweer, the Prime Minister visits the village team and the chairman of the Garrelsweer Earthquake Action Team to hear about their work and experiences with strengthening within the village approach.
In Ten Boer, the Prime Minister is briefed by residents of temporary housing in the region about their experiences. A temporary home offers temporary housing for residents who cannot live at home during the reinforcement or new construction of their home. Prime Minister Rutte will conclude his visit to Groningen with an overnight stay in a temporary accommodation.
In the margins of the visit, the Prime Minister will meet with regional administrators.
