Alexander Kilde had a hard time when he crashed into the nets at high speed in the Alpine Skiing World Cup downhill competition in Wengen, Switzerland.
Kilde lost her balance at the last gate at a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. Kilde was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Bern.
Now new information has emerged about the Norwegian’s injuries.
Kilde said that he got a deep wound on his calf. His left shoulder also dislocated and tore two ligaments.
Kilde’s leg was operated on immediately at the hospital. The surgery lasted a total of three hours.
– The wound was deep, almost to the bone. I lost a lot of blood. A few nerves were damaged, but luckily the motor nerves are fine. A few other nerve injuries require rehabilitation, which is the most serious of all, Kilde said According to Aftonbladet.
Kilde doesn’t remember anything about the collision, because he hit his head. He felt an extremely intense pain in his shoulder.

Kilde said later on Thursday on his Instagram account that he has traveled from Switzerland to Innsbruck, Austria, where he will undergo surgery on his shoulder. The surgery will repair the tears in his shoulder.
Kilde says that he is doing surprisingly well, considering that he hit the nets at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. He said that he suffered several injuries, the most serious of which was nerve damage, which had to be operated on urgently.
– I’ll spare you the pictures, because I don’t think that many people would be able to stand looking at them, Kilde wrote.
Kilde also thanks the doctors, nurses and surgeons who treated him in Bern.
