Anna Castillo (Barcelona 1993) is one of the actresses of the moment. In 2023 she has triumphed on Netflix with global hits such as the film ‘Nowhere’ and the series ‘A Perfect Tale’, and her immediate future is bustling with new projects. Furthermore, she has recently added a new facet as a ‘mixologist’ (and even glass designer), creating the Glassy cocktail for Bombay Sapphire gin. Her proposal will be available until the end of March in two locations in Madrid (Hotel Bless and Ginkgo Sky Bar, in the Hotel VP Plaza España) and two others in Barcelona (Nobu Hotel and Amar, in the Hotel El Palace).
Taking advantage of the opportunity, we wanted to ask Anna Castillo about one of her great passions: gastronomy. Here it is the complete list of restaurants where this actress is very happy.
La Taberna Errante (Carrera de San Francisco, 8, Madrid)
“I think my favorite restaurant is La Taberna Errante. It is a not too big place that I like to go to with friends. I love their market cuisine that changes according to the season, with the result that the dishes are always wonderful: you can tell that they are made with great love,” explains the actress. The menu usually does not lack their famous Russian salad along with Peruvian ‘tiraditos’, mushroom dishes or the house cheesecake.
Oysters Pedrín (Cardenal Cisneros, 39, Madrid)
Anna Castillo assures that it is likely that Ostras Pedrín is the place she has gone to the most times in the last year. “I really like oysters and also, here, they have select preserves and very delicious smoked products. “I’m a fan of aperitifs and this is a perfect place to do it, whether at one in the afternoon or at seven thirty in the afternoon.”
Umiko (Los Madrazo, 6, Madrid)
“There are many Japanese people in Madrid right now but there are few who maintain the quality over time. Umiko does get it and that’s why he’s my favorite. Among the dishes that drive me crazy are the spectacular scallop carpaccio they prepare, the mushroom stew with curry or the ‘nigiris’, with which I always put myself in their hands so they can choose which ones to serve me,” says Anna.
Casa Fidel (Escorial, 6, Madrid)
“I love stew and the place I like the most to enjoy it is Casa Fidel, which is in Malasaña and has a lot of charm. They make the soup just the way I like it and, in addition, they put the perfect amount: they don’t kill you to eat. They prepare it on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon.
Mercato Ballarò (Santa Engracia, 24, Madrid)
“I think Italian restaurants sometimes err a bit by setting prices that are too inflated. For this reason, the one I like the most is Mercato Ballarò, which has an excellent quality-price ratio. “Among my favorite recipes are ‘puttanesca’ pasta (olives, tomato and anchovies) or ‘frutti di mare’ pasta (with seafood).”
Bammbao (Nicolás Sánchez, 54, Madrid)
Anna Castillo not only moves around the center of Madrid: “Lately I go to Usera a lot because I have friends who paint and have their studios in that area. My most recent discovery has been Bammbao. It’s run by some guys who put a lot of effort into it and the result is delicious dishes, like the rib ‘saam’ at low temperature.”
Corchito (Salitre, 2, Madrid)
Passionate about wine, she includes among her latest finds Corchito, which is in Lavapiés. “They have a great variety of natural wines but, in addition, the food is very careful and the service is close and attentive.”
Sol i Mar (Miramar, 19, Calella de Palafrugell, Girona)
Related news
Anna Castillo has an apartment in Tamariu (Girona) and, whenever she is there, she stops by Sol i Mar, a place in Calella de Palafrugell, about 10 minutes by car. “It is a beach restaurant, but where everything is very careful. All the seafood they have is delicious. I especially like ‘canyuts’ (bivalves similar to razor clams, but smaller) and clams.”
Michelin star restaurants
If she has to choose one, the actress chooses Azurmendi, Eneko Atxa’s three Michelin stars in Larrabetzu (Vizcaya): “I was there recently and I loved it,” she explains. Of course, she does not forget her visit, a few years ago, to the Michelin star Dos Palillos (Elisabets, 9, Barcelona), by Albert Raurich and Tamae Imachi. “I have very good memories of everything I ate that day in this Asian fusion cuisine place.”
