Suri Frey presents a digital bag with profit sharing.
The subsidiary brand of the German company Meier Lederwaren is diving into the vastness of the Metaverse with an NFT bag. Owners of the digital version are involved in the sale of the corresponding physical model, Suri Frey announced on Monday. The first profit distribution took place at the end of 2023, with another one scheduled to follow in June.
Designed by the brand’s community at an event in July, the ‘TechBag’ bag model features a black patent design with removable handles reminiscent of a scrunchie. Eight additional color combinations in two sizes and interchangeable handles, including one in a snake print design, are also available. At the beginning of December, a presentation of the physical object and its start of sales took place in the German department store Galeria on Frankfurt’s Zeil.
A special feature can be found in the sales concept of the bag. Participants in the community event and therefore owners of the digital edition have a direct share in the brand’s profits. As part of the first payout at the end of last year, they received an amount of around 220 euros, and a further distribution of profits is planned for June.
“To impress today’s customers, neither a great homepage nor a few flyers or online banners are enough. Today’s customers want stories and to be entertained,” said Sven Meier, CEO of Meier Lederwaren. “With our ‘TechBag’ we don’t just tell a story, we actively involve customers in the story with the community. In this way we can build up a completely different level of proximity to the end consumer and, above all, receive direct feedback on the product and the campaign. Both of those were extremely positive.”
The small, physical ‘TechBag’ model is available in the brand’s online shop for around 80 euros, the large version for around 100 euros.
