Skating fun, or a little less fun if you slip, for the children at the ice rink in Waarland this afternoon. Lars was one of the first to go onto the ice. It was still a bit of a struggle for him, but he thoroughly enjoyed it, says his proud mother.
This afternoon we worked hard in Waarland to prepare the ice rink for the skating youth. The lighting was still being set up, as our reporter saw, but music was already coming from the loudspeakers and the cake and drinks were also ready.
Lars was one of the first to go onto the ice. “He likes it. He was on the ice last year too,” says his mother. She continues: “I give skating lessons to the youth here on Saturday mornings. Hopefully we will be able to skate here this Saturday, but the prospects don’t seem good enough for that. But at least we have this!”
The track opened at 12 noon, the first in the Kop van Noord-Holland. The ice rink in Winkel will also be open from 2:30 PM and tomorrow morning the children can skate in Julianadorp.
