Plopsaland was open until 1 am on New Year’s Eve for the occasion. When the carriages of ‘Ride To Happiness’ left around 11:15 p.m., an LED strip from the attraction had come loose. When entering the first loop, the 60 centimeter strip fell from a height of three meters. In the meantime, many people were already queuing for the roller coaster on the ground floor. The LED strip fell to the ground a few meters away from them, but no injuries were reported.
The park’s technical department immediately shut down the attraction after the ride and carefully checked every part. Each train also made two test runs. After half an hour the rollercoaster could be started again.
