Statement of the day | Violence against aid workers should be punished more severely

A special campaign by Taskforce Our care providers are safe will start on Wednesday, which draws attention to aggression and violence against care providers. They tend to be the center of attention on New Year’s Eve.

Violence against police officers has remained high in recent years. Police figures show that in 2022, employees in blue will have had to deal with aggression and violence approximately 13,000 times.

Ambulance personnel, BOAs and firefighters also often have to deal with aggression and behavior that makes their work almost impossible during the holidays. With this new campaign, the Taskforce hopes for a better approach from the government and more awareness among people in general.
