The abandoned match between Bournemouth and Luton Town in the English Premier League will be played again.
In the statement made by the Premier League management, it was stated that the match, which was played last weekend and continued 1-1, was canceled due to Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer falling down in the 59th minute after falling ill, and will be played from the beginning on a date to be determined later.
Lockyer, whose heart stopped during the match, was brought back to life with the early intervention of the medical teams on the field. It was announced on the official social media accounts that the 29-year-old player, who continued his treatment in the hospital after the fight was canceled, started to react to warnings and his health condition became stable.
Tom Lockyer was hospitalized after collapsing in his team’s Premier League promotion play-off final match against Coventry City in May last season.
The defender, who had heart surgery after the match, returned to the green fields in June due to his health condition improving.
