The last days of the year are approaching and, in a turbulent social context and great economic uncertainty, it is usual that Let’s start to get overwhelmed by making the dreaded end-of-year balance sheets.. In general, taking stock tends to fill many people with frustration, especially due to objectives that were not met. Whether you have set academic, personal or professional goals, it is likely that you have achieved some of them and others have remained pending.
For this reason, to reflect on our year and the next, it is essential that we are clear from what perspective we are doing it. That is, in what position do you place yourself to reflect: do you position yourself as the protagonist of your life or, on the contrary, do you do so from a victim position? And this does not mean that you have to to deny the situations that we have to live, but to focus on the variables on which we can influence. Focus on everything we can do to improve our quality of life.
In this context It is vitally important to evaluate everything achieved during the year that ends. Celebrate academic, work and personal milestones Not only does it help us identify our successes, but it also offers us the opportunity to strengthen ties with family, friends and co-workers. Reward yourself for victories, even if they are small, can help us stay motivated and to pursue future goals.
The idea, then, is to use the balance sheets to see how we stand in the present, what we modify today, how we reinforce the positive aspects of the year and what we do differently to avoid repeating the negative ones, capitalizing on the learning obtained. I am convinced that Well-being is built and there are things that can be done to be better. For example, express gratitude daily, develop optimism and positive emotions, practice kindness, take care of social relationships, try to live in the present and set achievable goals for the year ahead.
This is why if we are going to establish new objectives for the next cycle it is essential look inside and ask ourselves what we really need. Likewise, it is important exercise our patience, our tolerance for frustration and our commitment.
I hope that next year we start calmly and peacefully. I am sure that 2024 will bring us many challenges and, above all, enormous learning.
